Contest for Sculptors and Other Visual Artists

The NYU Sustainability Office is holding a contest for sculptors and other visual artists to design a trophy for the NYUnplugged dorm energy competition. Entrants should submit proposals and their trophy by Wednesday, March 25. 
The winning artist will receive a
$50 whole foods gift card and their trophy will become part of the annual prize for the residence hall that reduces its electricity usage by the greatest percentage during the competition. Trophy proposals will be judged on their aesthetic qualities as well as environmental performance criteria (for example: incorporation of sustainable and recycled materials)

Please note: The winning artist will be expected to construct their trophy by May 1, 2009

What to include in your proposal:
-Visual representation of what your trophy will look like
-A brief written description
-A name for the trophy
-A materials list including sustainable and recycled materials as well as anticipated costs.
